Leading Transformational Schools

The expectations for an educational leader in schools today are greater than ever.  In order to lead, leaders need to transform their approach and practices to engage others in a collaborative environment and to challenge the current methods through innovation.  Through his experiences in district leadership as well as coaching other educational leaders, Dr. Gupta will share key findings in practices to challenge others in transforming their leadership practices to maximize learning for all students.

Dr. Gupta Mini-Workshop: Coaching Up Leaders

What's the single, most important focus every leader should possess? To coach their leaders up! Invest time in reflecting on how you were coached up as a leader, as you gather strategies from other leader principles to build your plan to coach others up! This session will provide the sense of urgency and need to build leadership capacity in others.

MSW NEO Fall Reconnect Dr. Neil Gupta

Dr. Neil Gupta

Dr. Neil Gupta is currently serving as the Superintendent for Oakwood Schools. After graduating from Miami University (Ohio), Neil Gupta began his teaching career at Ashland High School, Ohio.  While teaching math, he obtained a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and then earned a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Ashland University.  While in Ashland City Schools, Gupta worked as an Assistant Principal and the Director of Secondary Curriculum. Neil continued his leadership journey as the Director of Teaching and Learning at New Albany School District and later the Director of Assessment and Programming. Prior to his current position, Neil served as the Director of Secondary Education for Worthington Schools. 

Neil has presented at the state, national, and international level in the areas of leadership, assessments, and coaching.  Dr. Gupta has a passion for administrative leadership, coaching teams, and working with teams using effective strategies and tools, such as design thinking and organizational management for positive change.  He is an Associate with Creative Leadership Solutions. Dr. Gupta believes in giving back to his community and colleagues.  Neil served on the Board of Directors for ASCD and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Ashland University, and is the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Worthington Resource Pantry.  Gupta is a member of ASCD, National Association of Secondary School Principals, and the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators. Neil currently resides in Columbus, Ohio, with his wife and two boys.  He enjoys reading, writing, playing Pickleball, and traveling.
